Installation Procedure

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the water pump gasket.
  2. Install the water pump.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the water pump bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb. in).

  4. Install the water pump pulley.
  5. Install the water pump pulley bolts.
  6. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the drive belt guard.
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM  .
