- Open the lift gate.
- Remove the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate .
- Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Liftgate .
- Disconnect the outside handle swing over clip from the outside handle rod.
- Remove the lift gate outside handle bolts.
- Remove the lift gate handle from the lift gate.
