- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the steering knuckle with wheel hub attached. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement (RWD) or Steering Knuckle Replacement (4WD) .
- Remove the upper ball joint retaining clip.
- Remove the upper ball joint boot.
- Remove the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle using J 9519-E .
