Installation Procedure

- Apply a bead of sealer to the blow out clip (2).
- Peel the protective cover from the foam tape on the back of the retainer.
- Position the clip to the back of the retainer.
- Apply a bead of sealer (1) to the area where the clip will contact the reveal molding.
- Apply, outboard of the two screw holes where the retainer bends, a continuous bead of sealer (5) to the applique and the reveal molding.
- Replace any stripped, broken or improperly seated screws.
- Install the windshield weatherstrip side retainer.
- Install the screws mounting the windshield weatherstrip side retainer to the pillar.
Tighten:Β
- Tighten the side retainer to applique screws (4) to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
- Tighten the side retainer to windshield pillar screws (4) to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
- Tighten the side retainer to roof screws (3) to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
- Apply sealant and install the weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement (Coupe and Convertible)Β or Weatherstrip Replacement (Hardtop)Β .
