Installation Procedure

- Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or RUN position.
- Connect the cable to the upper bracket.
- Connect the cable clamp.
- Shift the manual selector to Neutral.
- Using a small screwdriver, unlock the lock tab on the cable adjustment assembly (1).
- Install the park lock cable through the hole of the shift lever plate, then press the retainer into the shift lever plate.
- Connect the park lock cable to the shift lock lever.
- Ensure that the ignition switch is in the ACC or RUN position and the manual lever is in the Neutral position.
- Press the lock tab on the cable adjustment assembly.
- Check park lock cable for proper operation.
- Install the front floor console cover. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the front floor trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the instrument panel trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
- Install the bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
