Removal Procedure

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power .
  4. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer .
  5. Remove the door weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door .
  6. Remove the door window weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window .
  7. Remove the window guide. Refer to Window Guide Replacement - Door .
  8. Remove the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door .
  9. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door .
  10. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside .
  11. Remove the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door .
  12. Remove the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door .
  13. Remove the front upper door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Upper in Entertainment.
  14. Remove the front lower door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Lower in Entertainment.
  15. Remove the front door body side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Door Body Side in Exterior Trim.
  16. Remove the front lower door side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Side Door Lower in Exterior Trim.
  17. Remove the left fender, if necessary. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Left in Body Front End.
  18. Remove the right fender, if necessary. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Right in Body Front End.
  19. Remove the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front .

  21. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door (6) and door jamb, if equipped.
  22. Remove the front door wiring harness from the vehicle, if equipped.
  23. Remove all the retainers from the front door (6).
  24. Mark the door hinge (2, 4) location.
  25. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
    • The 4 door to hinge bolts (1, 5)
    • The front door (6)
