  1. Install the starter motor to the vehicle.
  2. Install the upper mounting bolt finger tight (1).
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the lower mounting bolt (2).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the lower mounting bolt to 37 N.m (27 lb ft).

  5. Tighten the upper mounting bolt (1).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the upper mounting bolt to 37 N.m (27 lb ft).

  6. Install the starter motor electrical connector to the solenoid.
  7. Install the positive battery cable and the retaining nut to the starter solenoid.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the retaining nut to 9.8 N.m (84 lb in).

  8. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the negative battery cable to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
