2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

CAUTION: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
  1. Open and support the liftgate window.
  2. Lift up the retainer clips on the assist rods using a small flat-bladed tool.

  3. Remove the upper end of the assist rods from the ball joint.

  4. Remove the lower end of the assist rods from the ball joint.
  5. Remove the assist rods from the liftgate window.
