Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING - AWD .
- Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 (HO2S2). Refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 2 or HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 2 in Engine Controls - 1.8L(LV6).
- Remove the bolts securing the front pipe to the Three-Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
- Remove the bolt and clamp securing the Three-Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) to the muffler/tail pipe assembly.
- Remove the hangers from the rear of the TWC (2).
- Remove the TWC from the vehicle.
- Clean the gasket and seal mating surfaces.
