2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery (5) into the vehicle. Position the battery into the carrier.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the battery hold down bracket (2). Secure with the bolt (4).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the battery hold down bracket bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  3. Connect the positive (+) battery cable (1) to the positive (+) battery terminal.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the positive battery cable-to-battery terminal to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  4. Install the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the negative battery cable-to-battery terminal to 1 N.m (11 lb ft).
