Spring Shackle: Removal

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the fuel tank 2-Door utility models.
  3. Remove the EVAP canister on 2-Door utility models.
  4. Remove spare tire, if necessary.
  5. Disconnect rear exhaust hangers and lower exhaust system, if necessary.
  6. Support the rear axle.
  7. Remove the frame to spring shackle mounting nut and bolt.
  8. Remove the leaf spring to spring shackle mounting nut and bolt. See Figure.
  9. Remove the spring shackle from the vehicle.
