DTC P0105: Map Sensor Circuit Range/Performance: Description

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ECM has internal tables that compare Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor values with a calculated MAP table. The MAP sensor is a transducer that varies resistance according to changes in intake manifold pressure (vacuum). The voltage ranges from 1.0-1.5 volts at idle (low pressure/high vacuum) to 4.5-4.8 volts at wide open throttle (high pressure/low vacuum). The 2 Throttle Position (TP) sensors vary resistance according to changes in throttle plate position. The voltage ranges is from 2.94-3.34 volts at 33% throttle to 0.59 for TP1 and 1.86-4.39 volts for TP2. DTC P0105 sets when the values are out of the calibrated range from the table values.
