2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position and support the catalytic converter under the vehicle.
  2. Install a new catalytic converter gasket.
  3. Install the catalytic converter bolts. Do not tighten the bolts.

  5. Install a new catalytic converter seal.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the catalytic converter nuts.

    Tighten:Β 

    1. Tighten the catalytic converter nuts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the catalytic converter bolts to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  8. Install the oxygen sensor. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
