2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: When replacing battery cables, be sure to use battery cables that are the same type, gauge and length.
  1. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1)Β  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7)Β .

  3. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable bolt from the core support.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the lower radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.
  6. Remove the battery cable conduit from the conduit retainers.
  7. Remove the battery cable from the conduit.

  9. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable nut and cable from the transaxle stud.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the vehicle.
