Installation Procedure

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Place NEW water pump gaskets into place.
  2. Install the water pump.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the water pump bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the bypass hose.
  6. Position the bypass hose clamps at the water pump and water crossover.

  8. Install the outlet hose to the water pump.
  9. Position the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.

  11. Install the fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch ReplacementΒ .
  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory in Engine Mechanical - 8.1 L.
  13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (without HP2)Β .
