  1. Align the rear impact bar to the frame rail.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the rear impact bar bolts to the frame rail.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (36 lb ft).

  3. Install the energy absorber to the rear impact bar.

  4. Install the push-in retainers to the rear energy absorber.
  5. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Oldsmobile)  or Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Pontiac) .
