2002 Chevrolet Impala LSSECTION Removal (3.4L)
NOTE: Generator does not require periodic lubrication. The rotor shaft is mounted on bearings. Each bearing contains a permanent grease supply. Periodically check mounting bolts for tightness, and drive belt tension. The drive belt is self-adjusting, within operating limits of tensioner. CS-130D generator is serviced as a complete unit.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove drive belt.
  3. Remove generator electrical connections.
  4. Remove power steering line clip (3). See Fig 1 .
  5. Remove generator mounting nuts and bolts.
  6. Remove generator (2).
