Circuit Description

2002 Chevrolet Impala LSSECTION Circuit Description

Remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) communicates with Body Control Module (BCM) through Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) serial data circuit. When any button on RKE transmitter is pressed, transmitter sends a signal to RCDLR. RCDLR sends a lock, unlock, rear release, or panic alarm request to BCM, depending on which button is pressed on transmitter. BCM receives message and performs appropriate function. BCM also uses RKE serial data circuit in order to communicate with RCDLR when programming RKE transmitters.

DTC B3106 is set when Body Control Module detects an invalid message (a message with a parity error). When DTC B3106 is set, BCM stores DTC B3106 in memory.

DTC B3106 will clear and become a history DTC when fault is no longer present and ignition switch is cycled. History DTC B3106 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present. A scan tool may be used to clear history and current DTC(s).
