DTC P1630: POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE UNABLE TO LEARN PASSLOCK(tm) MODULE PASSWORD: Description
This diagnostic test checks for enable password learning flag indicating Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is in learn password mode. This mode allows the PCM to learn password from Passlock(tm) module at assembly or when being serviced. Password needs to be learned whenever PCM or Passlock(tm) module is replaced. DTC P1630 will set when the enable learning flag is set. Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) will not illuminate. A history DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if this or any other emission related diagnostic does not report any failures. Scan tool CLEAR INFO function can be used.
