Diagnostic Aids
Inspect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Cruise Control Module (CCM) harness connectors for loose, backed out and corroded connections and damaged wiring harnesses. Check for damaged switch. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. If problem does not exist, monitor CRUISE STATUS display on scan tool while wiggling harness connectors and wiring. This can often cause intermittent malfunction to appear. A change in scan tool display will indicate location of malfunction.

When to See a Mechanic
