- If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition to LOCK position. Disconnect in-line harness connector C313. In-line harness connector C313 is located on fuel tank. Connect Signal Generator and Instrument Panel Tester (J-33431-C) leads to in-line harness connector C313 terminal D3 (Purple wire; female terminal) and terminal B3 (Black/White wire; male terminal). See Figure. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Vary resistance on tester from 40-250 ohms. See FUEL LEVEL SPECIFICATIONSΒ table. If fuel gauge does not display correct fuel level, go to next step. If fuel gauge displays correct fuel level, go to step Β 4.

Verify Signal Generator and Instrument Panel Tester (J-33431-C) resistance with DVOM.
