2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500, RWDSECTION Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: You must perform the new body control module (BCM) setup when replacing the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO ConfigurationΒ .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the console accessory wiring junction block. Refer to Console Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  3. Rotate the BCM retaining lever (1) to release the BCM from the console accessory wiring junction block.

  4. Remove the BCM (2) from the console accessory wiring junction block.
