2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500, RWDSECTION Removal & Installation (Diesel)

Disconnect the negative battery cables. Remove engine cover. Disconnect harness connectors from powertrain control module (PCM). See Fig 1 . Remove PCM mounting nuts. Remove PCM from mounting bracket. Remove the PCM mounting hardware. To install, reverse removal procedure. Program as necessary. See PROGRAMMINGΒ  . The MIL, anti-lock and brake lights will continue to be enabled until PCM is programmed. Once programming is complete, lights will be turned OFF and normal operation will occur.
