Installation Procedure
- Apply grease to the oil pump drive gear for ease of assembly.
- Line up the oil pump drive, making sure that the oil pump is fully seated in the engine block.
Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the oil pump, making sure that the oil pump drive is fully seated in the engine block.
TightenΒ
Tighten the oil pump drive bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold ReplacementΒ .
Correct alignment of the oil pump drive and oil pump driveshaft is critical. Make sure both components mate correctly, or engine damage may occur.

When to See a Mechanic
