Installation Procedure
When ordering new fuel injectors, be sure to order the correct injector for the application being serviced.
- Lubricate the new injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil (2).
- Install the O-rings on the injector assembly (2).
- Install the fuel injector assembly (12) into the fuel meter body injector socket.
- Refer to FASTENER NOTICE
in Cautions and Notices.
Install the injector assembly retainer (11) and the injector retainer lock nuts (10).
Tighten
Tighten the injector retainer lock nuts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
- Install the fuel meter body assembly. Refer to Fuel Injector Fuel Meter Body Replacement .

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
