Installation Procedure
2001 Chevrolet Suburban C1500SECTION Installation Procedure
- Install the generator.
Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the generator bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the generator bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory in Engine Mechanical - 8.1 L.
- Install the generator cable to the generator, perform the following:
- Install the generator cable.
- Install the generator cable nut to the terminal.
Tighten
Tighten the generator cable nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Slide the boot over the terminal stud.
- Connect the generator electrical connector (1).
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
