Installation Procedure
2001 Chevrolet Suburban C1500SECTION Installation Procedure
- Install the generator bracket.
Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the generator bracket stud.
Tighten
Tighten the stud to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Install the generator bracket bolts and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (8.1L Engine) .
- Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 8.1L.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory in Engine Mechanical - 8.1L.
- Install the fan and clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
- Install the battery cable junction block bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
