Removal Procedure
2001 Chevrolet Suburban C1500SECTION Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the batteryBattery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery)Β , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery)Β .
- Separate the MAF/IAT sensor assembly and the air inlet tube by loosening the hose clamp.
- Disconnect the PCV hose from the air cleaner outlet duct.
- Remove the air inlet tube and resonator retaining wing nut.
- Remove the air inlet tube and resonator from the throttle body by pivoting the air inlet tube and resonator upward until the hinge clip releases from the lip on the throttle body.
- Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.3 L.
- Remove the bolt holding the bracket for the wiring harness and the A/C hose, if equipped, from the generator mounting bracket.
- Remove the bolt holding the heater hose bracket to the generator mounting bracket.
- Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (4.3 L Engine)Β .
- Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.3 L.
- Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement - Right Side in Engine Mechanical-4.3 L.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the nut holding the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
- Slide the generator mounting bracket off of the stud.
