2 Operate the Memory Seat System.
Does the system operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the Memory Seat Switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit at the Memory Seat Switch connector and a good ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 12

  1. Disconnect the Memory Seat Module.
  2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
  3. Place the vehicle in PARK.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the park switch input at the Memory Seat Module connector and a good ground.
Did the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 5  Go to Step 11 
5 Using a test lamp connected to battery positive voltage, probe each Memory Seat Switch signal circuit at the Memory Seat Switch connector.
Did the test lamp illuminate for any of the switch signal circuits?
Go to Step 13  Go to Step 6 
6 Using a test lamp connected to a good ground, probe each Memory Seat Switch signal circuit at the Memory Seat Switch connector.
Did the test lamp illuminate for any of the switch signal circuits?
Go to Step 14  Go to Step 7

  1. Reconnect the Memory Seat Switch.
  2. Using a test lamp connected to a good ground, probe each switch signal circuit at the Memory Seat Module and operate the respective switch function.
Did the test lamp illuminate for each signal circuit when the Memory Seat Switch was pressed?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 15 
8 Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage at the Memory Seat Module connector and a good ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 9  Go to Step 16 
9 Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit at the Memory Seat Module connector and a good ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 10  Go to Step 17 
10 Connect a test lamp between the ground supply circuit at the Memory Seat Module connector and battery positive voltage.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 20  Go to Step 18 
11 Repair the open or poor connection in the A/T shift lock switch supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

12 Repair the open or short to ground in the battery positive voltage circuit for the Memory Seat Switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
