CAUTION:
Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
- If necessary, remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (6.0 L w/RPOs Y91 and Z88) , Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (4.8 L, 5.3 L, and 6.0 L) in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
- Remove the generator cable from the generator, perform the following:
- Reposition the boot to expose the stud.
- Remove the generator cable nut.
- Remove the generator cable from the stud.
- Open the positive cable junction block.
- Remove the generator cable nut.
- Remove the generator cable (2) from the junction block.
