Check IGN 2 (60-amp) fuse, STARTER (60-amp) fuse, and CRK (10-amp) fuse in instrument panel electrical center. Note condition and operation of SECURITY indicator light. If indicator stays on or flashes continuously, see appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article. Check starter solenoid terminals and battery grounds. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If fault is found, repair as necessary. If no fault is found, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMΒ  .
