2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger Extended, 6.5 FSECTION Removal (Impala)

  1. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from clip retainers on upper side rail. See Figure. Slide roof leg of windshield pillar garnish molding out from under center pillar trim panel. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from windshield pillar. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding from front door carpet retainer by pulling up and back. Remove windshield pillar garnish molding. Remove upper side rail clip retainers if damaged during removal of windshield pillar garnish molding, remove screw and replace retainer from upper side rail.
  2. Starting at right side of windshield, carefully lift upwards on defroster grille in order to release retainers. See Figure. Continue working to left until all of retainers are released. Disconnect Daytime Running Lights (DRL) sensor from defroster grille. See Figure. Remove defroster grille.
  3. Disengage Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) retainers. Disconnect RCDLR electrical connectors. Remove RCDLR. See Figure.
