- Remove the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Unsnap the sunshade from the inner retainer clips.
- Remove the sunshade fasteners and remove the sunshade assemblies.
- Remove the inner retainer fasteners and remove the retainers.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, use a flat-bladed tool to remove the sunroof switch knob.
- Pull gently at the front of the reading lamp cover to disengage the retainer clips.
- If the vehicle is equipped with OnStar®, remove the microphone. Refer to OnStar Microphone Replacement in Cellular Communication.
- Rotate the cover rearward until the rear attaching hooks are released.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof or with OnStar®, disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the forward reading lamp.
- Pull the headliner down slightly and slide the forward reading lamp out of the headliner.
