2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger Extended, 6.5 FSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the O-ring seal to housing assembly.
  2. Install the coolant intake housing and O-ring seal to the engine.
  3. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the coolant intake housing bolts and tighten.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the coolant intake housing bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the lower radiator hose to coolant housing.
  7. Install the coolant pump hoses and clamps to the intake coolant housing.
  8. Install the battery box/UHFB assembly. Refer to Battery Box Replacement .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling SystemΒ .
