2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger Extended, 6.5 FSECTION Removal (Intrigue)

  1. Release the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASEΒ . Drain the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK DRAININGΒ .
  2. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp from the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank filler hose from the fuel tank. Disconnect the quick-connect fittings from the front of the fuel tank. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGSΒ .
  3. Disconnect the EVAP pipe from the connection at the front of the fuel tank. Remove the rubber exhaust pipe hangers in order to allow the exhaust system to drop slightly. Separate the two halves of the EVAP fresh air hose at the splice. Remove the 3 push pins and the fuel tank shield. Support the fuel tank with a suitable transmission jack.
  4. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts. Lower the fuel tank to access the EVAP hose connections. Disconnect the EVAP pipes from the rear of the fuel tank. Disconnect the EVAP pipe from the EVAP canister vent valve. Disconnect the fuel filler neck EVAP pipe at the rear of the fuel tank. Slowly lower fuel tank and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
