- Remove the screws (4) that retain the side front door assist handle (3) to the door.
- Remove the inside handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - InsideΒ .
- Remove the side front door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement (Manual Windows)Β or Door Trim Plate Replacement (Power Windows)Β or Door Trim Plate Replacement (Side/Rear Door)Β .
- Gently pull out the trim panel at the top of the window opening. Using a long, narrow screwdriver, pry the retaining clips apart in order to disengage the clips.
- Lift the side front door trim panel (1) up.
- Remove the side front door trim panel (1) from the door.
- Remove the side front door trim panel (1) from the vehicle.
- Inspect the side front door trim panel (1) for broken or missing retaining clips (2). Replace any retaining clips as needed.
