- Ensure vehicle meets the specific conditions before performing procedure. See CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING . Turn off all accessories (e.g., A/C, blower fan, etc.). Using scan tool, perform EVAP Service Bay Test. If EVAP system passes service bay test, go to step 8. If EVAP system does not pass service bay test, go to next step.
- Observe scan tool service bay test for indication of why the test did not pass (e.g., failed DTC, test aborted, etc.). Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE COMPLETE SYSTEM SET PROCEDURE .
- Ensure vehicle meets the specific conditions before performing procedure. See CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING . Turn off all accessories (e.g., A/C, blower fan, etc.). Start engine and allow to idle for 2 minutes. Accelerate vehicle at part throttle to 45 MPH and maintain speed until operating temperature is reached. Maintain this speed for an additional 3 minutes or until I/M System Status indicator updates to YES. Using scan tool, review I/M SYSTEM STATUS display. If status updates to YES, go to step 8. If status does not update to YES, go to next step.
