2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Passenger Extended, 5.0 MSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove engine sight shield.
  3. Remove air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct ReplacementΒ .
  4. Disconnect fuel injection control module.

  6. Disconnect fuel filter/heater assembly connectors.

  8. Disconnect right rear fuel injector harness connector.

  12. Disconnect turbo boost sensor.

  14. Remove sight shield hold-down bracket.

  16. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor.

  39. Raise vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  40. Remove front lower skid plate.

  42. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor.

  44. Disconnect camshaft position sensor.

  46. Remove bolts retaining engine harness grounds.
  47. Lower vehicle.

  49. Unroute and lift engine wiring harness assembly for access to fuel rail pressure regulator.
  50. Disconnect fuel rail pressure regulator.

  52. Remove engine wiring harness from vehicle.
