2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Passenger Extended, 5.0 MSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. With an assistant, install the lift gate to the vehicle.

  3. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Install the bolts that retain the lift gate to the body.

    TightenΒ 

    Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the lift gate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut ReplacementΒ .
  5. Connect the washer fluid hose.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
  7. Install the roof rear header garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade/Suburban) in Interior Trim.
