  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  3. Remove the bolts securing the negative cable to the engine.
  4. Remove the negative cable from the power steering accessory bracket (4WD 15 series).

  5. Remove the bolt anchoring the negative battery cable to the block.
  6. Remove the bolt anchoring the negative battery cable to the frame.
  7. Remove the negative battery cable.
