2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Passenger Extended, 5.0 MSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EGR pipe.

    Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

  2. Install the EGR pipe mounting fasteners to the right cylinder head.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fasteners to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the EGR pipe (2) to exhaust manifold fasteners.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the EGR pipe to intake manifold fasteners.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fasteners to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement (6.0L) .
  6. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (6.0 L w/RPOs Y91 and Z88) , Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (4.8 L, 5.3 L, and 6.0 L) in Engine Mechanical.
