2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Passenger Extended, 5.0 MSECTION Installation Procedure

- Position the RDM support bushing to the vehicle frame with the slotted portions of the bushing at the 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions.
- Install the receiver end of the J 44866Β against the vehicle frame opposite the bushing. See Special ToolsΒ .
- Place the large diameter face of the J 44866Β driver against the flanged portion of the bushing. See Special ToolsΒ .
- Install the bolt and washer through the driver, bushing, and receiver.
- Install the nut to the bolt.
- Slowly tighten the bolt and nut until the bushing is drawn into the vehicle frame and the flange is seated squared against the vehicle frame.
- Remove the J 44866Β . See Special ToolsΒ .
- Install the support bracket (2) to the RDM.
- Install the bolt (3) and nut (1) to the bracket.
- Tighten the support bracket nut and bolt.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt and nut to 105 N.m (77 lb ft).
- Install the bracket-to-bushing bolt and nut.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt and nut to 105 N.m (77 lb ft).
- Remove the support stand from under the RDM.
- Install the rear stabilizer bar to the vehicle. Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT REPLACEMENT .
- Install the intermediate pipe and muffler assembly. Refer to Muffler Replacement (Service Part) or Muffler Replacement (Production Assembly) in Engine Exhaust.
- Lower the vehicle.
