- Remove crankshaft position sensor. Inspect position sensor for damage. Replace if necessary.
- Remove bedplate perimeter bolts.
- Remove crankshaft bearing bolts and discard.
- Using the pry-points and an appropriate prying tool, gently separate the upper and lower crankcase.
