Lower Crankcase (Unit Repair) Removal: Removal

2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Passenger Extended, 5.0 MSECTION Removal

  1. Remove crankshaft position sensor. Inspect position sensor for damage. Replace if necessary.
  2. Remove bedplate perimeter bolts.
  3. Remove crankshaft bearing bolts and discard.
  4. Using the pry-points and an appropriate prying tool, gently separate the upper and lower crankcase.
