DTC B0688: Security Indicator Circuit Fault: Description
SECURITY indicator is a hard wired light to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and controlled by the Passlock(tm) module. Indicator receives ignition voltage form the GAGES fuse. When DTC B0688 sets, SECURITY indicator will illuminate. SECURITY indicator may be illuminated when ignition switch is in OFF position if SECURITY indicator control circuit is shorted to voltage. Current DTCs will clear after an ignition cycle occurs without fault recurring. Passlock(tm) module history DTCs clear after 100 ignition cycles with no current codes active. A scan tool can also be used to clear codes.
