Intermittent DTCs P0251, P0370 and P1216 may be caused by air entering fuel system when fuel level is less than 1/8 tank while performing hard acceleration or turning maneuvers. If vehicle runs out of fuel, DTCs P0251, P0370 and P1216 will set. If vehicle has been operating under these conditions, bleed air from fuel system and test drive vehicle. Fast idle and poor performance will exist when PCM is in back-up fuel (less than 1/8 tank). If DTC P0251 is also set, use scan tool in snapshot mode to properly identify fault. DTCs P0335, P1216 and P1217 may also set with DTC P0370. PCM is the least likely cause of failure.
