2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inertia seat back lock assembly (1) to the seat back.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the 4 seat back lock bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the inertia seat back lock bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover Replacement - Front .
  4. Install the new emergency release knob.
  5. For the passenger side only, route the E/Z entry cable. Ensure that the routing of the cable is the same as before removal.
  6. For the passenger side only, connect the cable to the seat adjuster.
  7. For the passenger side only, attach the cable seat bottom with the tie strap.
  8. Install the two pivot bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the pivot bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the two new rear roll pins (2).
  10. Perform the out of vehicle inertia lock inspection lock system check. Refer to Seat - Back Lock Diagnosis .
  11. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket .
