2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Partially install the rear seat back trim cover to the pad.

    Important:Β  Do not exceed (1/4 in) diameter of hot glue to the seat cushion foam.

  2. Use a 138Β°C (360Β°F) hot glue gun. Apply a 6 mm (1/4 in) bead of GM P/N 12377914 or Special Bostik Glue in the top horizontal channel.

    Important:Β  Glue one seam at a time so glue does not harden prematurely

  3. Carefully place the trim cover over the foam so that the trim cover seam is positioned into the glue channel, within 30 seconds of the glue application.
  4. Use a straight edge of the same length as the glued seam. Apply downward pressure (1-4 psi). Hold the trim cover for 1 minute.
  5. Lift the front of the trim cover. Apply a 6 mm (1/4 in) bead of glue in the two side channels.
  6. Apply downward pressure (1-4 psi). Hold the trim cover (2) for 1 minute until a firm bond is made.
  7. Repeat this procedure for the other half of the cushion.

  8. Pull the rear seat back cover over the pad and pull over and under the edge.

  9. Install the hog rings to the rear seat back cover.
  10. Install the rear seat armrest. Refer to ARMREST REPLACEMENT - REAR SEATΒ  .
  11. Install the rear seat back. Refer to SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - REAR (STATIONARY)Β  or SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - REAR (FOLDING)Β  .
