2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal to the steering column support. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL in Hydraulic Brakes.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the steering column support bracket fasteners.

    TightenΒ 

    • Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 Ib. ft).
    • Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 Ib. ft).

  3. Install the brake switch. Refer to STOPLIGHT SWITCH in Hydraulic Brakes.
  4. Install the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal. Refer to VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER in Hydraulic Brakes.
  5. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal, if equipped. Refer to CLUTCH PEDAL REPLACEMENT in Clutch.
  6. Install the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CARRIER REPLACEMENTΒ .
