2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  4. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Inside .
  5. Remove the window inner belt seal strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Inner .
  6. Remove the outside rear view mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power .
  7. Remove the window outer belt seal strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer .
  8. Remove the window. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door  .
  9. Remove the window weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window .
  10. Remove the door frame applique. Refer to Door Frame Applique Replacement - Front .
  11. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door .
  12. Remove the rear window channel. Refer to Window Channel Replacement - Front Side Rear .
  13. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside .
  14. Remove the door latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Front Door .
  15. Remove the upper auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Upper Auxiliary .
  16. Remove the door bottom auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Bottom Auxiliary .
  17. Insert a small flat bladed tool between the door wire harness conduit (2) and the hinge pillar in order to depress and release the tab (3) on the door wiring harness connector.

  19. Disconnect the electrical connection to the door wiring harness.

  20. Remove the rubber conduit and the wiring harness (1) from the door.
  21. Remove the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement .
  22. Remove all the plastic nuts and retainers from the door shell.

  23. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
  24. Lift the door to remove.
  25. Remove the door hinges. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Front Door .
