2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
  2. Turn ignition off. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for SIR DTCs. If DTC B0079 is retrieved, go to next step.
  3. Replace driver-side SIS. See SIDE IMPACT SENSOR (SIS)Β  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all SIR components. Ensure that all components are properly mounted. Clear all SIR DTCs. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
